Colbert hires Survivor frontman to sing Gingrich's book

Thursday night on "The Daily Show," host Jon Stewart explained just how unimpressed he is by Donald Trump's endorsement of GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney. To Stewart, watching one rich man endorse another is nothing to get excited about.

"So Donald Trump and Mitt Romney join forces, showing Americans that if two Ivy League-educated, successful business tycoons from wealthy families can find common ground -- even when one is a billionaire and the other only a multi-, multi-, multi-millionaire, maybe there's hope this country isn't so divided after all," Stewart said.

To explain further, Stewart invited correspondent John Hodgman to discuss the ways that the haves are creating their own exclusive world of luxury and privilege for the soon-to-haves to have -- soon.

On "The Colbert Report," Stephen Colbert took a moment to bask in the success of his Super PAC. He divulged information about the PAC contributors -- from one guy spending $9,600 (to whom he gave a modified Colbert Super PAC tote bag) to many people only donating $1. It all contributes to the greater good, he boasts, now that his baby comes up as the second and third term when searching for Super PAC on Google.

"I don't want to stop there," Colbert announced. "I want the Google recognition of a Santorum. I will not be satisfied until Super PAC means 'a frothy mix of lube and campaign funding that is sometimes the byproduct of politics'."

And then it was on to Gingrich, who has offended Colbert without knowing it. Why? For his blatant disregard of copyright laws. This time, Newt is being sued for using "Eye of the Tiger" as his campaign theme song. To get back at him, Colbert suggests, someone should sing Newt's latest book -- "A Nation Like No Other" -- without permission, and who better than Survivor frontman Dave Bickler.

It was an eye for an eye ... of the tiger.
